Warning !!! Warning !!! Warning !!!
Don't do it. Sounds great BUT don't do it !!! Had it done complete nightmare. From what I was told it healed incorrectly (scar tissuing) now faced with laser surgery to correct BUT worst part I was told I would have to do self catheterizing for the rest of my life DAILY PERMANENTLY so the scar tissue will not come back. My doctor told if I don't do self catheterizing then it is most likely to come back which would require more surgeries. So unless you want a LIFETIME of self catheterizing yourself then DO NOT get the Urolift procedure !!! Trust me on this !!!
I am sorry you had a bad outcome.
Something doesn’t sound quite right, and I would get a second opinion.
Our team has done hundreds of these procedures and never had any sort of outcome as you describe.
All the best
I'm also sorry for your experience. I'm glad I had the Urolift. I'm off meds, and I no longer have the urgency to urinate. I have to get up 2 or 3 times a night instead of 6 or 7 times. My urine stream is much stronger now, so much so that I have to be careful not to pee on the floor! All in all, I'm more satisfied with the Urolift than before it.
Justin. I am sorry that you had a bad outcome but where did you have this done. What kind did you have a regular Urolift or a 4 D Urolift. I had mine done almost 3 years ago. It has been great.. Ken
Hi Justin,
Sorry about what happened. From what I have read, your experience is very unusual, as Urolift seems to have one of the better side effect profiles. That said, a good reminder that surgery is surgery, and things can go wrong. I don't know if a law suit is merited or not, but I would bring this to the attention of the manufacturer if you haven't already. And definitely get another opinion from someone not affiliated with your doctor or their hospital.
Jim
wow thanks for the warning.
Agree with this.
Nothing like this is in any of the literature and I’ve not seen anything remotely like this in hundreds of cases. Very difficult to understand what went on with very limited clinical information given above. Definitely recommend reaching out to the company and your urologist as well as a second or even third opinion. Something is not quite right
I wish we could get more information. Because this is not right. I would like to know where it was done. I sent 3 e-mail to a lady from NeoTrect complaining about the 4 D Urolift. There company does not regulate the doctor or the procedure technique they perform. They let the doctor do the procedure the way the doctor want to do it with any change. My doctor has been doing many Urolift the last 3 years and he has never had a problem like this. I have talk to many of his patients. Justin if you need a e-mail for this lady I will send it to you. Good luck. PS Please if you can give us more information Ken
Definitely get a second opinion. Try someone who does reconstructive surgery.
Sorry that worked out that way for you. I'm two years plus post Urolift and love it. Had no complications, needed no pain meds. Now pee and ejaculate like a teenager. Had six thingies put in. Sleep 7 - 8 hours straight at night frequently. I am most pleased.
I'm guessing its NOT the procedure itself but rather your uroligist/surgeon or something about your prostrate.
Just doesn't seem right to warn people off a procedure that has worked well for so many of us.. Okay to say it didn't work for you - fine. But it has worked for me and many others.
Some months after RP I had scarring and blockage at bladder neck and after botched clearence I was told at self cathetering instruction this would also be for LIFE. A few weeks daily, then every second day, then weekly for a few months then OK without for next 2 years so far. So "LIFE" may not be so.
Radical Prostatectomy is a very different operation than a Urolift.
I've seen folks have significantly bad urethral issues (including bladder neck contractures for life.)
I've not heard or seen anything of that sort after a Urolift procedure.
Jersey thank you for your concern . But I wish we could get some more information from Justin on where he had it done and who was the doctor. Something does not sound right. My urologist has been doing the Regular Urolift for over 3 years and never had any problems like that. And you have said you guys done many over the years. We need more information on him Thank you again Ken
Where did yo have this done and who was the physician
