Has anyone experienced the prostate Urolift procedure. Considering it myself!
Had it, worked like gangbusters for a couple months and then stopped working. Getting more clips in a couple of weeks. Absolutely try and get the procedure done in a surgical center or hospital rather than in the doc's office. I was put under (propophol), and the procedure and recovery were quick and mostly painless--I had it on a thursday and went back to work on monday. Others here have had the procedure in a doc's office with only the local and reported that it was a miserable & painful experience.
I had it done about a year and a half ago. Successful so far. Excellent flow at first and still pretty darned good. Initially had bladder stones most likely caused by BPH. Had blood in urine with also
Some reduced urinary flow. Had one surgical treatment in surgical center with iv anesthesia (Propofol) to remove
Stones and Urolift at same time. Recovery was pretty quick. Catheter for a couple of days-annoying but very tolerable. Bloody urine for a week or so and then just some soreness especially when sitting that just gradually went away. Overall pretty easy.
Lots of people have had great results with urolift. I just can't get past the fact that the procedure just ties back the walls of the urethra. You have the same amount of prostate tissue its just compressed.

Re "to remove Urolift" - so, the clips are temporary? How do the doc's know timing of removal, since generally, the prostate keeps growing, or am I wrong?
No, it's not temporary exactly. They can partially remove the clips (the outer anchor stays), which makes it possible to have another procedure like a TURP if problems return.
