hi, I am wondering if anybody here who's diagnosed with Urticaria pigmentosa like myself wants to share his/her experience with me please??

Hi Mohammed can you tell me what the symptoms are I haven't heard of this variety of chronic urticaria. You will find out on this blog that there are wonderous and numerous varieties of this irritating and annoying condition that no-one seems to know where it comes from or how to deal with it!

Hi Lorraine, I was diagnosed with Urticaria pigmentosa about 5 years ago but luckily I don't suffer from itching or anything like that. The only I have is that the skin appearance is not good, I have these brown/redish spots all over my body and they can go a bit bumpy like hives when they rubbed. I did a bit of research and I find out that unfortunately there is no cure to this which is really hard to live with.

Hi again, yes I do live in the uk.  I saw my dermatologist over a three year period to keep an eye on my condition and because I do not suffer from any itchiness and discomfort, she advised me to get on with life and ignore the appearance as there is nothing you can do to get rid of the brown/redish spots.  During the three year period I did blood tests, biopsy etc etc.... I read about Urticaria pigmentosa on the British Association of Dermatologists in London and they basically say exactly what my dermatologist said to me.  They advise you to avoid things which make the spots become very red, bumpy like hives and that through avoiding hot shower, drinking alcohol, exercise like running etc etc...

yes and another doctor will tell you to do exercise to keep yourself fit, I saw a Dr Sabroe a dermatologist specialising in urticaria at the Sheffield Hallamshire Hospital, she is one of the best in urticaria in the UK so I would try to get a referral. Unless your dermatologist was an expert on urticaria you may be better getting this referral. I had this referral from a specialist dermatologist who wasn't afraid to say he didn't know about urticaria, not all are like him I'm afraid.
