Using Gavilyte days after Endoscopy?

I recently had an upper endoscopy done, about 3 days ago now.  I am generally in poor health, have severe IBS and recurring issues with nausea and occasional vomiting.

My physician prescribed me Gavilyte, and told me to take it after my endoscopy. I’m a little nervous to take it- is it safe to take something like Gavilyte so close to an endo in which biopsies were taken, and I’ve been feeling so sick since. I’ll probably wind up taking it because I trust my doctor, but am looking for reassurance.

Since your doctor has prescribed you this medication, you should follow his or her advice and take it. Your doctor would not prescribe a medication to you if he/she knew it wasn’t safe.   If the medication doesn’t suit you however, simply go back to your doctor and ask for something else.
