Uterine Artery Embolization

Hello ladies,I just had my procedure done Thursday May 31 . I know it's only been 3 days but when do the cramping suppose to stop?

Hi Ada,

The cramping should lessen within a couple more days. I had cramps on and off after that for about 2 weeks, and only took Ibuprofen at night to be sure I could get a decent amount of sleep. I had the same procedure back in October.

Best of luck and hope you heal quickly.

Thank you so much Cindy, last night after I used the bathroom real good the cramping kinda ease up alot. I just have this lil pain that's sitting in my abdominal and it's uncomfortable...But I think that u am on the road to recovery and thank you so much for replying back to my message. So you been doing good? One more question, how long did it take for you to stop bleeding?

Ada,

Funny thing is that I had a period going into the procedure, and very light to no bleeding afterwards. However, I had to wear liners for a while, but I don't remember how long. If you are feeling slightly crampy, you may want to go for a 15 minute walk, if you are up to it. A walk does help the body. I went from a 15 minute walk to a half hour within a week's time.

My results were good. The fibroids shrunk enough to not give me problems. Mine ranged from 2-13 cm. I did get a much lighter period in November, so I did the happy dance. lol

Have a good day!

I had severe cramping for a week to 10 days.  Keep on your pain pills and stool softeners (just make sure you stop the pain pills after 5 to 7 days!!  They are highly addictive).  I found that a heating pad on the abdomen helped a lot.  It's rough.  Hang in there. : )

My cramping stopped after about 7 days
