Im 32 years old never had any children. I'm having 2 fibroids removed in January. I really don't know the size, the doctor just was trying to insert the Mirena IUD to help control bleeding and he could not insert it because the fibroid was in the way. For some years I knew I had fibroids, but just thought they would go away especially after each month dealing with heavy periods. I also have problems with constipation, hgb dropping, tireness, mood changes, so many problems recently. I was hoping someone who has had this procedure done could give me some advice from there experience. I'm having it done by Hysteroscopy. What are things I should expect after surgery? The recovery time? Just little tidbits of information, because my pre op appointment is not until January and my nerves are so out of wack. I'm this symptoms will be reversed and I can carry on a normal like again.. Thank you
I had open myomectomy c section incision 12 weeks ago and I'm 32 without children. There is a small chance i can have children now but this is after having UAE operation 2 years ago for a very large fibroid which isnt meant for fertility preservation. Your operation is less invasive and you should be fine if they don't come across issues removing them depending on the size. You will have to wait a while before trying for a family but ask how long if they dont offer the information. You will have a few weeks of recovery and you really need to listen to your body when it tells you you are tired and need to rest. I pushed myself too far a few times and ended up in bed again for a few days during my recovery. They should at least do a scan to gauge the size as that's how they found mine. I had 3 large fibroids and when I finally got to the operation date there were 5 in there. Good luck with everything x
I would also say on the plus side, my hair skin and nails are amazing compared to thin hair, brittle nails and acne pre surgery. Your hormones can really mess with you but hopefully you will see improvement in these areas. Also, I've lost over half a stone in the past few weeks not counting losing weight from sheer mass being cut out of me! Things seem to be going back to a new normal for me and I hope the same happens for you
