Uterus lining has Thicken

I’m 53 yrs old

I have recent gone to the OB/GYN for pain in ovary area. I was sent for  ultrasound.  It has been discovered the lining of uterus has thicken to 8mm. I was put on therapy to reduce the thickening . 2 months  into therapy I return to my dr in tears feeling lil weird from so much hormones I was sent back to ultrasound to see if the therapy was working in reducing the thickness of uterus lining. At that time 2 months into therapy it reduced from 8mm to 6mm. My dr has recommended surgery to scrap remove. I’m set to have this done on July 10, 2018.  I’m very nervous worried about the C word. Cancer since it runs high in my family as well as what to expect from the surgery.

I know what you're going through hun. I'm peri menopausal aged 47. i had 2-3 yrs of prolonged irregular painful bleeding & pelvic pain until i had transcervical resection ablation (scrape) last july. it's the best thing i ever had done. it was done under anaesthetic so i knew nothing about it. the bleeding stopped several days after op, pain gradually went over the 2wks following op. i have not bled since nor had any pain. the biopsies taken came back normal. (i like you, was worrying about "c" beforehand). please try not to worry. xx
