I have just come back from my dermatologist with some rather depressing news. He repeated that it was the worst case of LS he had seen and is concerned that all the scarring is causing the vaginal entrance to close up. He is going to search out a gynaecologist who specialises in this sort of case - i.e. complicated by the LS. Does anybody have any experience of this and/or surgical intervention to rectify the problem? I have seen references to dilators but with the scarring and open sores these would be impossible. Any ideas anybody would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Have you heard of the Mona Lisa touch? I never had it done but some ladies on here have referred to it.
Yap, mine was considered at one time the most worse LS case my doctor had ever seen. However, just recently another doctor said that he had seen worse. But that's one year after I had been totally fused up.
In case something needs to be done, ask for a dilation procedure. It is done under complete anaesthecia. After that you have to do dilation yourself. Ever increasing the size of dilator you use.
If it is at all possible, I would urge you to see if you can do some dilation at present, as to avoid the entire hospital procedure. If you do it as gently as possible with enough coconut oil for lubrication you might gradually win after all.
Also - my rinsing with baking soda after every bathroom visit also made a difference. So did the baking soda baths in which I also added some tea tree oil.
Don't despair. There is a way to restore all. In any case, don't let doctors cut anything. Think dilation.
Wishing you well.
Thanks Hanny for words of encouragement, advice and empathy. I'll keep you posted! Thanks again.
I have heard of it thanks. I'll investigate and keep everyone posted - thanks for responding.
