Came across this medical/clinical trial link. Studies are for atropic vaginitis BUT I have that too!! (Wondering if many of us do...).
I could not find Vit d suppositories online - just liquid for babies and softgels.
So what say you? Should we do a group trial and put our vitamin D softgels where the sun don’t shine? 🤣

Geeze, I don't think I want to put another bloody product down there right now. I have a cornucopia of products I'm trying to feel comfortable with. I wish I could attach a picture of my cache. WOuld love to know what others think.
Susan same for me!! I’ve had two days of semi-relief adding newly gotten emu oil (plain), which is about how long anything works on me. I get this vibration feeling down there usually at night when I’m still and notice it... like WHAT is happening down there?? I just don’t understand.
Tonight I’m repeating over and over this (fill in remedy) is working to heal me... in desperation and hope all at once. I pray a lot too.
But isn’t this interesting???
Pat that's so strange that you mention a vibration feeling. I also get that and I now know that it signifies a change/ big irritation about to start.
I am going tback to my GP tomorrow to ask to be referred to consultant again. I feel like I'm going round in circles -cocnut oil/olive oil/ nappy rash cream/ aloe vera. These things seem to work for days or weeks then randonmly stop working. I'm having a bad flare up just now so rally need to get some control back
I too get a sensation that there is some kind of movement down there and I freak out that it is eating up the other labia. Last night I mixed a tiny bit of Clobestol with Aloe and tumeric oil to stop any sensation. I think it worked. I'm trying to bring the color back to normal. I'm already fused on one side and the monster is working on the other side. I"m so tired of this daily obsession with my lower extremeties.
I’m reading as a newbie the bicarbonate with tea tree eases the itch just had biopsy done a few days ago. Not tried yet anything is worth a go I feel
Beyond trying to understand
Looks like psoriasis suffers use a vitamin d cream, would make sense that it might help our condition as the two are similar. A quick look and I found this on Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/Advanced-Recommended-Absorption-Vita-Sciences/dp/B00N5I469U/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1532442660&sr=8-1-spons&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=vitamin+d+cream+for+psoriasis&psc=1
I will read your link and decide if I should try and then come back and let you know.
What a great idea. Thank you for sharing. I am on the road in an RV right now. I will order the vitamin D softgels when I return home in a few weeks. And post my results here.
Hello, I'm up for an experiment if you are. I was thinking of making my own suppositories because I'm not sure you can buy such a thing here in the UK. Maybe mixing the vitamin with coconut oil perhaps? I'm not sure how strong the vitamin D dose should be though, any ideas??
I have used probiotics vaginally after a bad flare I had due to the flu. This was recommended by a functional medicine doc .
PAT! this is really fascinating research article - thanks. Did you notice that there is a statistical difference between only taking 1,000 IU a day versus 2,000 IU in this study? and the understanding that vitamin D is really a hormone. I had read months ago on another site that vitamin E softgels are also helpful for vaginal dryness. THis has great resaerch behind it. I'm gonna find them. I think I'd do for the 5,000 minimum that i've been reading about. I hope i'm right in assuming that Vit D delivered tothe skin which is absorbed it doesn't make any difernce if it's topical on the arms or vaginally.. smiles. the whole body should be gettgin the benefit at the same time. and reducing even that little cancer risk is really cool!
Two others saying they have that movement feeling!!! I feel better that it’s not just me (but sad any of us have it). Mine has been almost constant for weeks and weeks!!! I notice it more at night though.
Right now I’m not doing great. This has zapped me mentally and emotionally. Just too long... so much damage... so much discomfort pain and ... it’s been disabling.
So glad you’re all here. 💜
I can’t believe two other people have said they have it too!! Sometimes I think I’m ready for the psych ward with this affliction. I am a strong woman but this has taken me down!
So glad I mentioned it.
I feel the same, a long time without relief.
So glad you’re here and we all have each other. 💜
Let us know if you have a successful recipe! 💜
Nancy, your enthusiasm always makes me smile!!
And I’m pretty cranky right now haha.
Yes I thought it was fascinating as well, and hopeful. I had also read about D having hormonal effects in a positive way.
I’m not sure I’m up for the challenge until I get just a little break in this nightmare. It’s been steadily worse since February but really revved up the past couple+ months.
The aloe/turmeric helps some, the emu oil has given me the most pain relief and I’m using the steroid cream once a day (down from twice). It seems to have caused a skin irritation (thinning?) on the back area so I’m only using small amount on fused areas along with the rest....
Hope is a good thing!
Your energy is refreshing!!!!
I found some vitamin D3 soft gel tablets. I am going start using them Toni get. I will post updates here.
Kruth! So excited to hear! I’ll look for your updates! What is the dosage of your D softgels? I take 5000 ui/day so that’s what I have on hand. So curious to see if this helps!! Best of luck!
I haven’t started as I was trying too many things. and want to see how my current concoction does first.
❤️
Hi Pat,
I read your post 2 nights ago and also took time to read the stats on the link! Thank you so much for sharing!!! I found it to be extremely interesting especially since I suffered with sever vaginal atrophy long before I was diagnosed with LS. I cannot do HRT or any type of hormone cream because I have already had to have breast surgery, my doctor says the risks are way too high. Anyway long story short, I am the guinea pig here so to speak. I have been taking 1000 mg D-3 daily so I already had the soft gels on hand. I have used them vaginally for the last 2 nights in a row. At this point I can only say I feel much more comfortable down there and that is a relief I really like! I certainly plan to continue using them and will surely keep everyone posted on how things go!!!
Oh, that's so interesting jen4377. I've just ordered some of the same and was wondering how to use them. Cut them open and spread it on but if you inserted the capsule into the vagina then I'll try that. Did the case dissolve or did it come out? Did you notice the vit d trickling out or not I wonder? Looking forward to trying it out!
Most of the soft gel capsules on the market contain an oil like olive, lanolin, etc. which is UV irradiated to form the Vit. D. In Australia, the capsules are limited to 1000iu. vit. D each.
