Tried adding 15mg Mirt to 225mg ven over the course of five weeks. For me I didn’t find any additional benefit from the paring. I then increased the Ven to 300mg instead. As with all these combos, seems to work for some but not others. I did find the Mirt useful for sleep, but I wanted it to help treat anxiety!
I was prescribed these two meds about 15 years ago. I was on both until recently when I came off the Mirtazapine. I had reduced it down to 7.5mg for many years, which I know is sub-therapeutic, but it helped me sleep despite it being a low dose. I had been on high doses (up to 45mg) but it caused extreme anxiety, which drastically improved when I reduced it. A few months ago I decided to try reducing it further but very slowly until I stopped it a few weeks ago. the sleep isn’t great, but my ongoing moods have really improved. I put on loads of weight with the mirtazapine, and later learned it stimulates the appetite. I’m still on the venlafaxine, that seems to do the trick.
I was put on Mirtazipine 7.5 and after a month I came straight off of it, it did not add any additional benefit other than sleep, but felt so lethargic and rubbish it made my depression and anxiety worse.
Coming off of it just after a month has been horrible I am day 19 off of it and still think I am in withdrawal.
