I have been on Venlafaxine for years 37.5mgs slow release and if I forget even one I feel sick and dizzy next day. My chemist says they are out of stock and it has now been 3 weeks. I have 7 left. Anyone on here know if they are still prescribing them? Thinking of phoning GP today? But don't want another as these are great. Mmmm - really worried.

Hi Sammy I have been taking them for a long time now and feel fine on them. Have been on others, but I find the slow release helped me after a couple of weeks and could not be without them. It was more for anxiety/panic attacks and touch wood, I have never had a panic attack since. Good news for me though I have managed to get them at another chemist. Hope you feel better soon. Let me know how you get on with them.

This keeps happening to me too, but don't think it's permanent, just supply problems. I couldn't get mine 10 days ago but they came in a few days later. I order mine as early as I can now to try and avoid running out.
Hi Linda. You need to call your prescription plan to find out which pharmacy accepts your insurance. Then you need to look at your pill for markings, numbers, etc and call those pharmacies to see if they stock this pill. I had a similar problem just recently. Long story short, I was on a generic effexor xr for years when the company that made it, discontinued making it then supplied my pharmacy with another generic that didn't work. My Dr then prescribed "brand only" which my insurance did not cover!!!! Name brand for Effexor XR 75 is over $500 for 30 days. As if right now, she's submitting a pre authorization because Lexapro and the last generic didn't work for me. Anyway, that was a bit off subject, but my point was to tell you to research where you can get your generic.
And yes, when I was an hour or two late taking my dose, I would get dizzy spells. I would take your dose, because if you go to long, you'll start withdrawal. And having weaned off Effexor to start Lexapro, I can tell you it's not easy. Let me know what you find out! Oh, also, if you go to the effexor website, there's a discount card that you can use, even if you have insurance. You'll pay either $4 or$30 for a 30 day supply. I am using that until, when, if, my or authorization goes through. I'm paying $30 right now, far better than $500+. FYI, venlfaxine is exactly want effexor is.... I'm sure you know that. Good luck!!!
