I am on 75 mg of venlafaxine since end of april this year. My pshycatrist just started me on 5mg of abilify and i start tomorrow. I suffer from anxiety and depression along with depersoniliazation/Derealization. Has anyone took these two together for the depersonalization and derealization and had good outcomes??
Hi Marissa: I’m taking desvenlaxfaine the generic for pristiq. I had the derealization and depersonalization when peri hit. I don’t know if yours started at that time too. When peri caused extreme anxiety and panic for me along with extreme dizziness. It caused extreme vertigo which I believe caused the anxiety and I believe it caused the derealization and depersonalization because they say vertigo can cause that. I think now my inner ear was hit hard from my hormones fluctuating. So, I’m on a steroid now prednisone that is used to treat vertigo which keeps me up along with meclizine that treats it too which can make you sleepy. The combination balances itself out for me so, I’m not too wired or tired but, for the first time my symptoms are easing up since adding this to my med. My med calmed me down initially and I did gene testing for that but, this really for the first time has made a difference. My balance is getting better too. So, I didn’t figure this out till just recently but, wanted to just chime in because it could for some be a cause. I didn’t link it to my ear though for a long time. I was just too sick. I’m pretty sure now this is what caused it. I hope you get better soon! I feel your pain and you are not alone <3
