Venlafaxine and hairless ?

Hi I've been on 187.5mg venlafaxine since December, over the last couple of months I have noticed that a lot more of my hair is falling out. I try to eat as healthy as I can as I work shift work, I have also noticed that I'm not going to the toilet for no 2 😳 everyday, I can go 3 or 4 days Which is totally unusual for me and very uncomfortable

hi karen im on 225mg vent, i to go 3 or 4 days so i can symphathise with you about no 2sssssss i have a tendancy not to feel hungry so dont bother eating after couple days then get stomache pains and the need to go and find myself stuck in loo straining just to releive the pressure, cant say ive noticed hair loss only alot of grey appearing. best wishes jayne

Thanks Jayne for your reply glad you have a similar issue to share, although sorry your experiencing it, I worry when I experience something out if the ordinary especially when most people report diarrhoea. I have found however that it has been amazing for my anxiety and depression ☺️

i cant share your amazment for anxiety and depression, ive gone from 75mg to 150mg to 225mg and saw a specialist yeserday whose talking about putting up to over 300mg, drs couldnt understand why it wasnt doing anything for me and the speacialist said my depression , anxiety was bought on by P T S D So yet more to go through, i do hope you settle down soon take care jayne :-) x

Hi Jayne

I'm on 225mg too and wondered if you get any side effects on it.

hi louise , yes short term memory, constpation, tearful, lack of concentration and stuttering, ive never stuttered in my life , what side effects do you have  xx

Yeah, tearful, nausea, feel rubbish in morning when I get up and feel a bit jittery and the sweating is rotten. Was on citalopram before, might ask to go back on it.

yep know how you feel , i was on cit for over 2 years stopped working even after increased dosages so went on to vent. tbh i hate mornings takes so long to get motivated, im tearful, sweaty, and when i only get 2/3 hrs sleep i really cant be bothered dr did say it takes 6/8 weeks to feel full benefit of vent. take care best wishes jayne

How long have you been on it?
