I have been on Venlafaxine 150 (2x75) for a few weeks and I feel very tired and a bit sleepy during the day. I take my Ven in the evening. I am also on Mirtazapine, however I wasn’t feeling like this on Mirtazapine by itself. I used take Ven 75IR a few years ago and I wasn’t tired or sleepy on it during the day. Has anyone had a similar experience that XR version cause more fatigue than IR version?
Hi Ala. Do you sleep ok at night? I've been taking 150mg of Ven XR for several weeks. My doctor told me to take mine in the morning as it can disrupt your sleep pattern if taken before bed. You may not be getting good quality sleep if you take it at night which might make you tired through the day.
Hi Jackie, I do sleep during the night, however I have been waking up a few times as I often feel hot and sweat a lot (probably the side effect of Ven). I think I will try IR version for 2-3 days just so I can compare and then if I feel no different I will try to move my XR to am. X
I’ve recently gone up to 225mg Vensir XL and I’ve noticed tiredness and daytime sleepiness has gotten worse. It was a problem already. I take mine at 10am daily. I have to say actually, thinking back I don’t recall feeling so tired and sleepy on the IR. That could be due to several factors though so I can’t say for sure. I sleep pretty well through the night but feel exhausted in the morning. I hope this is helpful to you x

Is it helping you with depression? I think if my mood improves I will be able to cope with fatigue.
