Why the f**k aren't MD's talking more about life after this drug? Wrecked my life. Completely unmanageable. You're better off managing opiates... I didn't sign up for this unrelenting hell.

I manage both AD medications and Opiates with my condition, sometimes problems with many health conditions never really go away we live with the consequence of our illnesses and this can be hard work.
If you feel damage to your life has happened you need to explain all to your GP. I am now sixty seven and I have been chronically ill now for over thirty years. Sometimes you feel the need to scream and hit out in anger it does not work and we all need to get help if anger prevents us to move on.
Talk to your GP there may be something that will help get you back to a more stable state

I'm sorry your experience with venlafaxine has been so hellish. I have taken it for over two years now and it gave me my life back. I hope you will soon find a medication that will help you feel better.
Thx for your compassion, Phyllis. It gave me mine back too, to a certain extent. But no Lobito, and a handful of other annoyances, made the decision very clear. I won't take something pharma for the rest of my life, if I get through these current side effects. Take care.

Ven 400mg/day for 10 months for my severe depression. Totally brought me to a better place. But, I was totally numb and not the same person at all. Not to mention zero sex drive, and crappy GI issues. So after 10 months, I weened myself off of them over the course of FOUR months. It's been about 2 weeks now, and the physical and psych affects are in FULL effect. Completely unmanageable. So far, 1 person on this site has made 2 great recomendations, that Ithis at least subsides ANY. My goal is to inform people of my story, so that when they get ready to ween themselves, they know what to expect. Or, before they start taking this s**t they can make an informed decision. Yes everyone is different, blah blah blah, but more info on the post-ven needs to be given to these people by their doctors. Seems like in most instances of my research, client comes in, feels like slitting their wrists, and they'll take anything without all the information.
Right. They seemingly are. (big breath) Now that I've gone through this process, I can't believe how easy it is for anyone to start something regardless of mention or in my case, no mention of side effects like these! For me, I was easily at my most vulnerable, and was willing to take anything (that was the feeling anyway). Thanks.
