In the process of reducing Prednisone from 13.5 to 13 using the DSNS method. Have been experiencing significant bouts of vertigo and dizziness the last few weeks. Anyone else experience this during their taper?
I was on a higher dose but tapering when I started being dizzy and going deaf in one ear. I was diagnosed with Menieres disease. It went on for a few weeks but this was about 2yrs. ago and I have had no trouble since, although I understand it can return. I blamed the Pred. which was probably unfair.
I have experienced dizzy spells whilst tapering and understand it can be a side effect. It should pass.
All the best …
I’ve slowly reduced from 15mg. to 10mg, so far so good. I am although so sick & tired of the bloat, swelling, thin crepe skin, bruising, moonface, camel hump, high blood pressure & terrible weight gain 45-pounds, I know from the prednisone. Have others experienced the same on 15mg. I have been as high as 60mg. & as low as 5mg. at that level I lost allot of weight quickly, moonface shrunk, back camel hump reduced, but the pain & chronic fatigue worsened. Thanks
yup …that too !
I get slightly dizzy when standing up on 5 1/2 mgs. It does pass.
Cut your carbs drastically - that makes a big difference with pred weight gain. I lost 35lbs doing that.
Reggie, I would look at my diet if I was you. At 10 mg I had lost my weight gain and was back at normal weight.
Good luck, stay active, positive and try to smile. ![]()
Around 4 mg (I think) I used to feel kind of light headed quite often. It passed eventually. Just kept on with my taper at the time (DSNS, 1/2 mg at a time at that point, and the long version).
