This it feels, probably never happened to anyone else! I just returned from 3 nights in vegas. I’ve been home a week and ever since I have this awful sensation of gravity pulling my body down in waves, like I feel a thousand pounds heavier. Nothing funny in my head, no pain, just this awful sensation. this had happened to me a few times before after traveling, with it happening the first time 15 years ago. But it doesnt happen everytime I travel. I racked my brain to find the connection and the only thing that was consistent was that each time I used the elevator a lot. I’m talking 10 to 15 times a day minimum. It eventually goes away but man it is awful. Anyone else have a similar experience?
Hi you don’t say how long you have been back, could it possibly be jetlag
I’ve been back since Sunday evening. And I drove I did not fly. Thanks for responding
So you have driven quite a long time, did you know you can actually get car sickness after you stop, if i drive for so long and im tired i feel horrendous for a couple of days, its like I’m disorientated, once i catch up on my sleep im a lot better
The thing is this never happens when I drive the same distance to other places, and I drive to San Diego frequently which takes longer than getting to vegas. This is only like the 3rd time this has happened to me. Once flying and 2 times driving but again, only when using elevators a bunch! I dont feel tired or sick at all. It’s happening right now as we speak, it’s so weird! I do notice today it’s not so strong so hopefully this is the tail end of it. But it’s so strong that when it happened the first time 15 years ago I thought I must surely have a brain tumor lol, as its something I’ve never felt before. Oh well, I guess it will remain a mystery!
Were they speed elevators? You may suffer some interference in the pressure in your inner ear. A bit like the reaction of your ears to a rolling boat, this could be the reaction to all that speeding up and down.
It sounds awful but glad it eventually passes.
I’d say they were fast yes. And going up and down many floors all day( its vegas after all). When we were on a cruise it wasnt very fast but again 20 levels on the ship, multiple trips a day. It’s now day 7 and it’s still happening just not as intense. It’s got to be it. I have no sensations in my ears whatsoever. I’m trying to find words to describe it . Like that pulling down sensation when you’re on a swing when you come down from being high up. But no head effect, just the body. Appreciate your comment!
