Hi all, I am 25 and undergone cataract surgery last March since i found that it is hard to look at the words on the computer screen. And everything is like light color, e.g, the black color letter looks blurry and not crisp, it makes me extremely focus to have my daily life. That's why i decided to do the surgery. Actually, the cataract occupies the central of my eye only, not affected surrounding area, my corrected vision around 0.5/0.6 at that time, so it is ''not that bad''. The thing is that the doctor originally planned to set the monofocal lens at -1.5/-1.75 and i am informed that i can look at the computer without the need of glasses. I am agreed with that. However, i do have significant astigmatism that around 2.5D. And the doctor didnt inform me which lens he planned to implant and after i finished the surgery, i surf on the net based on the alcon information card and was shocked that it is just basic lens (SN60WF). The day after surgery, doctor said i have no nearsigned now with around 2.25D astigmatism. I was angry and ask why it happens. He just said we can settle the astigmatism with lasik. And of course, i don't trust that doctor again. And after 3 months, my prescription is -0.5D with astigmatism. I bought a pair of expensive progressive glasses and it is so hard to use why you use the middle area to see computer or do close work. In Jan 2020, i have YAG done for my operated LE since another professor doctor said i have the need to do so. So i did that, but turn out i didn't really feel the difference lol And in July 2020, I visit another doctor and he said i can do the lasik to make it become -1.5D and satisfy my frequent need for computer (I am accoutant). I agreed with that since so called ''reading glass'' is killing me under my age. I dont mind wearing glasses when hang out or driving. I think many of you agrees with that when you hv frequent near vision need. The issue is that my eye now is day 14 after lasik and it is still blurry when i look in neither far way or near way. It is usable only for around 40cm only. Day 1 after lasik, the prescription checked is -2.00D and 0.5 CYL. And one week post lasik is -1.5D and 0.75CYL (What scary me is that the first eye check for one week post lasik is -0.5D and 2.75CYL, i was totally shocked, and the doctor said my corneal is affected by my eye lash and make the eye dry(?) so, he put on contact lens and wait 10minutes, the prescription becomes normal again). So, I am appreciated for any input for people had lasik after cataract and wanna know your healing progress. Thanks a lot. Sorry for my poor English. I am from Hong Kong.
