Hi everyone on here, i have posted earlier about what had happened to me with regard to vertigo, dizziness and nausea since March. I wanted to post something positive as most things are negative on these post because of the conditions that many of us are in. I finally saw a specialist last friday who diagnosed me with vestibular neuritis. I have seen 2 ent and about 5 different doctors to get to this point. This specialist was very keen in his questioning and asked the questions and listening to my answers. I was giving those same answers to the other specialist but he just wouldent listen to me. My doctor and my local specialist both had no idea what was going on and refused to book anyfurther test. they would rather book and rebook, make there money and see how i progressed on my own. I was forced to go to a larger city with an outstanding healthcare system and a health care university within it. Having a teaching hospital with renowed specialist makes a huge difference in the quality of care you recieve. Anyways now with all of that said, i was diagnosed with vestibular neuritis and iam having a VNG within calorics in Sept to see how badly it has damaged my vestibular functioning. If you would like to read what my symptoms were and how it set in please read my earlier posts. I have done many things on my way to finding this diagnosis tried, magnesium, prednisone, betahistine, vit B12, nasal decongestants, neti pot, drinking more water, cut out caffine and more. However non of these things seemd to help. I then had an eye exam and have been wearing glasses for the last 2 weeks. The glasses didnt take away the dizziness or the nausea but they did actually take away a couple headaches i was having, and they allowed me to focus on objects better throughout the day when it would hit me. Now for the good news, throughout the last few months i have been making a slow but steady recovery and this week it has taken a huge step forward. I have been feeling almost symptom free and the dizziness is disapearing. The specialist said he expects me to make a full recovery before winter. Just remember eveyone to keep your head up and believe that you will make it through it. Your responses and posts helped me greately through the struggel of making it through the worst part of my life to date and I wanted to let you all know that there is a path for recovery. Iam not perfect yet but i would say 90% is pretty good. My specialist said if I want to get back to 100% i need to keep working, moving and pursuing life even if it feels like crap. Just do it safely.
Thanks Guys
