Vestibular Neuritis Triggers?

Hi just been diagnosed with VN - been ill for two and a half years with it . I feel ill 99% of time with dizziness, bad balance, nausea and just totally fed up. At the same time they also diagnosed Mal de Debarquement hence why it took so long ( having 2 issues!) my question is are there certain foods that make VN worse? stuff like ready meals/ processed food. Also has anyone had any treatment for it? Thank you

That's a long time to have VN! have u been doing any vestibular therapay exercises?

Yes it's because I had two conditions - I was describing symptoms of both!  No not yet - back to see consultant in 2 weeks perhaps he will suggest them? Thank you

U could also go on you tube and look up home vestibular therapy exercises. Start them while ur waiting :-)

stay away from sodium....also keep busy...do the bppv ...an eply excircises daily.....drink lots of water.....also nortyp meds work

Avoid sodium, caffeine, chocolate

I had VN for 2 years back in 2008. Anxiety made it worse and last longer. Do vestibular rehab to retrain your brain. Take meds for anxiety on a daily basis. Go for a walk each day even if you have to hold on to someone or something. Eat as healthy as you can. Take vitamins to strengthen your immune system. Rest often. Drink lots of water. Avoid salt and caffeine. See a therapist.

I did all these things the second time i got it and it lasted only 4 months.

Thanks I will do that x

I have been on AD's for a while just upped dose. Try and walk as much as I can ( have a walker) starting new healthy eating as well. Glad for you that your next bout only lasted a few months mind you that's long enough. Thank you xxxx
