Vestibular Therapy

Just wondering if anyone has found physical therapy for vestibular issues helpful for balance and feelings like your on a boat rocking?

Yes, it does help desensitize movements.  It doesn't cure it completely but it helps

It helped me years ago. This recent bout it's not doing a thing.

Hello Betsy,

I started my physical therapy about two weeks ago And I have had a good week and feeling normal again.

My therapist gave me excises that I need to continue 30 sec. Two times a day.

I Hope You Feel Better

Angie,

How many days a week are you doing PT? They wanted me doing 2 but I can only make 1 day with my work schedule.

I am seeing my therapist once a week. He has me doing me exercises at home everyday two times a day for 30 sec.

What your describing ( boat rocking ) is called Mal de Dembarqument Syndrome ( MdDS for short ) there is a site especially for it on FB go look them up . It's admin is Polly Moyer and Steph Whiting .

That's interesting and a new term for me. Unfortunately, I can't think of what precipitated except faking down a bowling lane. I have cruised, that was my second experience of a drop attack. So many variables??

I never ever heard of it ,not many drs do for that matter ,but patients are educating them to it . I've had it over 5 yrs I dint know about it myself ,as to a name for it . It can feel like being on a boat ,trampoline , walking on thick sponge , etc when you've got a balance problem you can often get 2 running side by side . ,2 different symptoms, but never realise it ,people with Menieres often get 2 also . Drop attacks are often Menieres . Join up on both groups is my advice ,get better insight . Like you've said and realised there are many variables to all of this . Spiteful condition it is .
