i have morpheoa and I have been put on a coarse of methotrexate once a week and folic acid once a week. Has anyone else got this condition and taking the same treat ment,if so is it working I have had Morpheoa  for fifteen years and had no success in getting rid of it

Have you read this page Vicky?  I have never heard of Morphoea and looked it up.

I hope the MTX [Methotrexate] helps.

Thanks. Yes I have read this but there seems no cure so I am trying meta trexate hoping it will work

What dose are you on ?

I am on 20mgs MTX and 5 mgs Folic Acid.

Been on it since May 2002, bit of an old lag on this.

I take the Folic Acid every day but not on the MTX day.

Was stressed to me that the Folic Acid was very important.

My repeat prescriptions alway say once a week for the Folic Acid, but the consultant said every day.

You need to check with your consultant on the Folic Acid.

I have never had any side effects like some have had, i do believe it's the Folic Acid that helps.

I am on a low dose at moment I have only just started on it so taking 6 tablets once a week at moment but will go up to eight and one folic acid once a week I shall not stay on it as long as you if I don't see a result within a year I shall give up

I was taking MTX and Folic acid but had to stop recently.

The folic acid helps with nausea.  I only took it once a week.  I was fortunate, I didn't suffer from nausea.

I took MTX for 18 months and it helped with my Mucous Membrane Pemphigoid but I developed severe joint pains and stopped taking it.  The pain is gradually lessening.
