Tuve una laparoscopia hace 4 semanas para eliminar un quiste complejo de 8 cm en un ovario y un quiste muy pequeño en el otro ovario, pero también tenía endometriosis de grado 3 por todas partes, que también se eliminó. Hoy, mi especialista me recetó Visanne (comprimido de solo progesterona de 2 mg) ya que explicó que esta es la mejor manera de prevenir que la endometriosis vuelva y luego requiera otra operación más adelante, ya que, aparentemente, incluso si se elimina la endometriosis, puede volver. Mi preocupación, sin embargo, son los efectos secundarios. Me dio toda la información sobre la pastilla y también dijo que es posible que no tenga todos los efectos secundarios o solo algunos de ellos. Sin embargo, estoy muy incómoda, ya que ya sufro de reflujo y un estómago muy sensible (no puedo tomar ni Neurofen ni medicamentos antiinflamatorios porque vomito) y en el pasado ni siquiera toleré la pastilla anticonceptiva normal. Los efectos secundarios de Visanne incluyen: náuseas y también dolores de cabeza (sufro de migrañas recurrentes), depresión (sufro de ansiedad severa), falta de sueño (ya tengo problemas de sueño), dolor de espalda y espasmos musculares (tengo escoliosis y un problema de disco y lo manejo con muchas estiramientos, masajes y fisioterapia, pero no puedo manejar el dolor muscular adicional, etc.). Esto es muy preocupante, ya que no estoy segura de poder tolerar ninguno de estos efectos secundarios, especialmente porque solo tengo 4 semanas de postoperatorio y aún tengo molestias generales por las suturas y aún estoy recuperándome. ¿Alguien ha tomado esta pastilla antes y alguien ha probado una alternativa diferente a la progesterona? ¡Hola! Actualmente estoy tomando Visanne para tratar la endometriosis. Todavía no me han hecho la cirugía de escisión porque creen que sería de alto riesgo debido a las cirugías previas que he tenido. Así que primero estamos probando esto. Llevo 3.5 meses tomándolo. Sí, he experimentado efectos secundarios. No los nombraré porque cada persona es diferente. Algunos han mejorado y desaparecido por completo. Algunos han empeorado. He llevado un diario de cómo me siento cada día, para no tener una visión demasiado estrecha y en su lugar mirar el panorama general. Por el lado positivo, el dolor de la endo ha disminuido y ya no tengo la menstruación. También ha detenido el sangrado que tenía durante 25 días de cada mes. Estos han sido enormes beneficios para mí porque mi período me causaba un dolor excruciante y el sangrado me hacía sentir sucia. También solía tener insomnio durante mi ciclo y ahora no tengo ningún problema para dormir. Recomendaría probar Visanne y tratar de aguantar al menos 3 meses. Lleva un registro de cómo te sientes cada día: qué está mejorando, qué está empeorando. Puede que encuentres que los efectos secundarios desaparecen o que no los tienes en absoluto. Y luego compara los efectos secundarios con los beneficios: para mí, no tener la menstruación es un enorme beneficio y estoy dispuesta a soportar algunos efectos secundarios a cambio. Puede que encuentres que lo que obtienes de Visanne supera los efectos secundarios. Por supuesto, puede que encuentres que los efectos secundarios superan los beneficios. Recomendaría probar y ver qué pasa. Me estoy comprometiendo a 6 meses para mí misma y luego reevaluaré. ¡Mucha suerte!

As to itchiness around the incision site, have you applied moisturing oil, lotion or cream? For 20 years I've been taught that itchiness around any healing spot means that the skin is dry there and needs to be moisturized. Of course you want to be careful not to get whatever you use into an unhealed area.
Sometimes docs forget to tell us to take food with meds. This is especially true with all pain pills & muscle relaxers. The general rule is to take meds with at least 6 oz water and a bit of food unless otherwise specified, because these things soften a drug's harshness on our systems. It's counterintuitive but if a drug causes/aggravates insomnia, take it right before you go to sleep. The drug won't be digested until you're asleep and won't hit full efficacy until about when you wake up in the morning.
Hi there, i have been on visanne as well for 6 months and as mentioned by others here, it depends on the individual how your body will respond. as for me i only had one episode of sharp pain when i first started taking it and i immediately called the doctor who advised me to retry the pill after 2 days and it was okay for me for 6 months. i had to change the pill simply because i moved countries and the price of visanne in my current location is very expensive so i was prescribed with another combination pill which i think has not been working too well for me. so I will suggest for you to just give it a try as i believe it is a strong treatment and since you have quite a number of endo episodes its best to stick with Visanne for now. Ohh and my Dr asked me to start on the pill after one month from my operation date so im not sure if it is okay for you to start right after your operation.
I am in a similar boat.. I also recently had a surgery and the doctor has recommended taking Visanne to slow the growth of the cysts/prevent them from returning. Did you end up taking it and have you experienced any of the side effects? I know the dosage is low so they say it's not common to have weight gain/depression/etc. but everyone reacts differently. This is something I am also very concerned about so any experience you can share and how/what you decided would be so helpful. Thanks a ton.

I was diagnosed with a 11 cm myoma in July 2017 and had it removed through laparoscopic myomectomy in December 2017. During the operation, my gynecologist discovered I had Stage 1 Endometriosis. She had it fulgrated as well.
On my account, I didn't heed her advise to take Qlaira on the following month because I wanted a break from medications before I was on Lupron and it drained me. I did heeded her advise on the Depo shot in February. However, came May 2018, I started to bleed non-stop. Hence, I went back to my gyno and got an ultrasound. I had diagnosed with adenomyosis and endometrial cyst in my left ovary of 1 cm. I was prescribed Visanne for 6 months to help shrink the endometrial implants and cysts.
I wonder if the DepoShot made it worse or was it because I did not take Qlaira as told. Anyway, I've finished one box of Visanne and side effects were tender breasts and irritability but it's still manageable. I'd continue with the medication in the hopes that it will stop endometriosis from spreading and shrink the cyst found.
Btw, the only symptom I have of endometriosis now is mild back pain. I find that stretching, walking and pelvic floor exercises for women with endometriosis helps with it.
I will have a ultrasound done in 5 months time to see if it the medicine works. I’ll update you on that.
