Visual Disturbances related to Anxiety?

In August after months of anxiety, panic, and stress I developed these strange shadows that appear in my vision randomly and go away as soon as I try to focus on them. They are not always there and they come on at random. I have also noticed that after I look at a screen or strain my eyes a bit I see that image with me when I look away for a second. I do have floaters and these are not floaters. I have gotten my eyes checked a week before these symptoms began and a month ago by an ophthalmologist. She said I have perfect vision and everything looks normal. I have had glasses my whole life and havent experienced anything like this until a few months in to an extreme anxiety filled couple of months. any thoughts?

I have exactly the same symptoms....see my post on this same issue..many comments..by other patients..good luck

Hi this happens to me as well especially when Im anxious or having a panick attack I feel like I will see all dark but I do wear glasses but I dont think its that and my doctor has reassured me I dont have a brain tumor

Yup been there! My vision will get blury and it gets hard for me to focus sometimes. Of course when this happens I will start freaking out which I think makes it way worse. If you've had your eyes checked then it's nothing to worry about! Just close your eyes for a bit, take a deep breath and relax!

I believe that what you're experiencing is called, "auras" They are usually a sign of a migraine coming on and may show up in different ways. They're like bright flashing lights that work their way into your vision in such a way that you may only see half of what you're looking at for a bit.

While I can usually count on mine lasting 15 minutes or less..some folks have them much longer.

They don't have anything to do with your vision in the long run yet are more related to an oncoming migraine.
