Vit D Recovery Time

IAm suffering from vit D deficient.Mine is 15.

I have been on 50,000UI/week for last 4 weeks.

leg muscle pain

BP issues

breatheless

dizziness

Things are very slow in improvement.

When will I improve?

My level was at 17, and it took months for me to feel better, my doctor said it takes 3 months for it to get back in your system, it is a lengthy process unfortunately, but you will get better, just give it time.

What were your symptoms?.

I ate peanuts and it looks like it flared up things..is tht possible?.

Main symptoms were bone pain, depression, no energy.

Clare, I have found your reply helpful, thank you.  My level is also at 17 & I know that it takes about 3 months to get into your system.

My symptoms are bone pain & this incredible lethargy.  My blood pressure is erratic.

My Consultant has given me 100 days of Colecalciferol 1000iu

Are you on a maintenance dose now?

Iam not on maintenance dose yet.

I take 60000 units per week for 10 weeks.

What are your erratic bp readings??

Mine was 150/100 with no reason.

130/80 then 150/80.

I am taking anti hypertensives because I have had high blood pressure for years,

I didn't have any blood pressure problems, have you mentioned this to your doctor? The only issue I had was skipped heart beats and chest pain, read this can be caused by magnesium deficiency as vitamin d can zap your levels. I still take vitamin d daily, on the recommendation of my doctor

They are aware of my BP  but my GPs may not know about my Vit D levels yet.  I am under 5 different Consultants so it is a bit busy!!  I have only been taking the supplements for just over 2 weeks, could do with a magic wand to speed things up a bit.

hello Shiva, how long did it take you to recover. Its 7 months since you posted.

my vitamin was 8 and beeen 2 months, my dizziness/unsteady still occurs once a while.

Wanted to know how long it takes to recover.

I saw my bone specialist recently & was told that my Vit D is back to normal, though, stupidly, I forgot to ask what it actually was.  I do, however, have to continue taking the Vit D for ever.

I have recently been diagnosed with Sjogren's Syndrome, which doesn't help.

I am currently waiting for an appt with a Rheumatologist for the Sjogren's & a Cardiologist for the hypertension.

My BP went to 230/125 last summer & I ended up in A&E twice because of nose bleeds.

I already see a Dermatologist, Oral Consultant, Ophthalmologist & Bone Specialist
