Hi all
I've had muscle aches and pains for some time now and a recent blood test showed a vitamin d deficiency. I've been told the range is 7.0 - 40.0 and my current level is 7.2. My GP is reassuring me that everything is going to be alright and will take a couple of months.
My question is, are any of you taking vit d supplements and do they help? I'm taking my thyroxine and vit d 12hrs apart as I've heard they can affect the absorption of thyroxine.
I still feel like an old woman and I've only just turned 37!!!

Hi there
I have also recently been diagnosed with vit D deficiency following muscle pains and cramps and was given a vit d shot and a course of tablets. My GP recently said to me that I should regularly take some form of supplement especially during winter months. I have been given another course of vit D & A. Also please refer to my posting earlier (levothyroxine ) as woudl interested to hear if you have had something similar.
HI
Yes, i also have similar problems to yourself. I asked my GP about the injection but was told they are stopping this type of treatment! I'm just on tablets right now. I am trying hard not to give up and am just waiting for next month when I'll be seeing my endocrinologist and see what she has to say. I'm so low today and am a misery to be with. I feel sorry for my kids who have to see me like this in their summer holidays. I am still getting the aches and pains. All my GP said to me was that I should be exercising etc. I was very energetic before all of this and I'm still a member at the gym but I've not been able to go because exercise has been bringing on more aches, pains and fatigue.
I'd like to hear how you're getting along.

Hi
Well I still have an ongoing problem with muscle pain cramps and fatigue. I have now managed to get my consultant to test me for T3 as well as other thyriod and muscluar conditions adn due to see him end september. Despite taking the normal T4 levothyroxine I firmly believe that my smptoms ares till thyroid related and not anything else. I have also been to see a homeopathy consultant to look at alternatives.
