Vitamin D deficiency success stories

I just came to this forum as I was diagnosed with Vitamin D deficiency. I hope you are now feeling better and all resolved for you. I know this a post from few years ago but I interested to know how things went for you and any advice from you.
My vit D is 14 ng/ml. I have very similar symptoms as yours - the most bothering one is the fatigue. Also have dull persistent headache, daytime sleepiness, wired feeling in my leg, mild ankle pain and mild muscle pain in arms and legs. Sometimes feeling tingling in my left check, eye and lips. Also sometimes feel nausea. Interestingly, I can walk on a treadmill at 6km/hr for 50 mins without fatigue, but fatigue is the single most bothersome symptom while resting with daytime sleepiness. This fatigue and sleepiness don’t go away no matter how many hours good night sleep I get. Also, there is an urge to do frequent deep breath and have palpitation. All my other blood test came normal except for Calcium which was borderline.
I am now supplementing Vit D - 2000 IDU (prescribed only 1000 IDU per day for 3months but I doubled it). I also take 400 Magnesium, and 200 Vit K in addition to a general multi vitamin and omega 3/6/9.
I would really appreciate any thoughts from you.
I have never been sick like this before.

hello taro, i know that you posted this so so long ago. But i just ran across your post and i have to say that i have every single symptom that you had including irregular heartbeat, palpations, weird blood pressure etc. Please let me know what helped you and how long did it take. I feel super miserable…hope your doing well.

Did you Google if the fda has changed something in our foods we eat? I’m almost sure, I read that they are regulating vitamins. I also read something about scurvy and other diseases you can end up with. This is just horrible. I hurt all the time and I don’t know why I’m feeling this way. Hope you all get well.

hello. i can relate to your story. i hope you got better by now.
i’ve felt fatigue with usual activities and brain fog for a relatively long time. back pain, numbness in my hand and feet, heavy feet.
vitamin d was 11ng/ml. i started 2000 ui daily. but i have never tolerated it well…
so i took it with some iron and multivitamins. my calcium levels and magnesium were normal at the beginning of the treatment which was a week ago.
i had low iron though.
now i can’t sleep, feeling restless, agitated through the day, my hands are prickly, my mouth is dry, and my cervical spine hurts. these symptoms started with the treatment.
i don’t know what to do. i would like to correct the deficit.
i ordered some magnesium, i don’t know if taking them together will help.

I have longstanding vitamin D deficiency/insufficiency and have been through all types of tests only too look like a hypochondriac. I’ve been suffering for at least 10 years. Just last week I had my levels tested and went from 24 in March of this year to 26!! I’ve been taking 2,000 IU daily for the last 8 months and nothing has happened with my levels, but my symptoms of fatigue, dizziness, pain, etc have not subsided. I researched my symptoms over the years and it took this latest test for things to click. Longstanding vitamin D deficiency can cause you to experience the symptoms of secondary hyperparathyroidism!! There is no tumor on your parathyroid glands or high blood calcium in secondary hyperparathyroidism. It is treated with D3 analogs such as calcifediol. Primary hyperparathyroidism is due to high levels of blood calcium and high parathyroid levels. Please research the difference between these two causes of hyperparathyroidism as the treatment is very different for each type. I’m working with my doctor now to see if this on fact what’s happening with me due to my deficiency.

Just wondering how high your supplements were? My vitamin d level is 11, and this is my third month of taking supplements…
