Vitamins after gall bladder removal

Horrific pain resolved via surgery, but I have been left with loose bowel movements and an ongoing tummy pain, like tooth ache in the tummy rather than the horrific pain of gallstones.  I am now taking Questran, this has resolved the loose movements and most of tummy pain. But I am exhausted. My question is "if vitamins cannot be absorbed because of this medication, is it worthwhile taking any supplements?"  Surely these won't be absorbed ust like the vitamins from my food? Anyone got any idea?

I've had loose motions for 10 years & my stomach pain feels like someone has punched me in the stomach everyday.

I used to take immodium regularly but It gave me horrendous constipation.

Eat lots of fresh vegetables and that will help with the vitamin intake.

Thanks for your reply. Poor you, sounds like my kind of pain.  Have you not been back to your doctor? My problem is that I cannot absorb vitamins from my food, because of the he Questran that I have to take daily. It makes me wonder if it is worth taking further supplements. Is this just throwing good money down the pan (pardon the pun).

Could you not stop taking the questran & change your diet drastically, I'm giving up all the foods I like and starting from scratch to see if it will make a difference.
