Hi l am 48 and plan to have cataract surgery end of this year, my Ophthalmologist recommended Vivity and said its the best lens for me, but l was worried about what l read about it having lower contrast then monofocal lens so l went to see another Ophthalmologist for a second opinion . He said pity much the same thing as the first guy, he said he thinks vivity is a great Lens and he said he thinks it pity much has the same vision quality as a monofocal except it gives you much better range of vision .He said he just started implanting vivity in his patients and he said his done a few so far and plans to do many more, he said the few patients he implanted with vivity were happy with the quality of their distance and intermediate vision , he said the only complaint was one was not happy with the near reading vision , he said no one complained about the contrast level. But his only implanted a few vivity so far.
I am sure everybody’s experience with Vivity is different. In my case, I got Vivity in one eye 5 month ago. I am going to get Eyhance for my other eye next month. The first eye is my dominant eye which had worse cataract. So, I am going all out, hoping to cover all bases with the first IOL. I do have 20/20 vision after the implant. I am able to read my phone about 18 inches away, my computer screen about 24 inches away and anything in distance during the day. However, night vision (starting from dusk) is not very good. I think it is the result of the low contrast. The worst part is the Positive Dysphotopsia such as rings, halo and light fragments. Vivity claimed to have very little of these. Maybe I am one of the unlucky ones. I talked about that in a different discussion in this forum. I also saw light streak from headlights and street lamps. But the doctor corrected it with laser. I stressed to my doctor that I absolutely wanted the best night vision with my second IOL. That is why I was recommended Eyhance. Hopefully I can see better at night.
