Waiting for Gallbladder removal

hi everyone

I found out few months back i have gallstones, which i had suspected for quite awhile. Id been suffering with quite bad gallbladder attacks. ( I still do at times)
I am currently on the waiting list to see a surgeon, and because of the pandemic the queue is quite long.

Because of the flare ups, im becoming afraid of food because i never know when it will start something up. Last night i had the wost flare up iv had in 18 months and it was horrid.

Im just scared of it, and the surgery, i just want to feel like my old self again.

Don’t fear I had mine removed September of last year. I had a slow recovery and the anxiety of it made it so much worse. I met a professor of Gastrointerology that teaches at UAB-a top tier teaching hospital. He told the body is designed so amazingly that the small intestine actually forms into a funnel shape at the top to compensate for the direct “bile dump” and although it can take several
months for the body to fully make that change, it does happen. The top advice I can give is this: get up and move move move after surgery. Drink lots of water and move. Your body is an amazing design and it will acclimate fine. I’m telling you, I was a mess. But the battle is in your mind right now and it will be fine! Have the procedure and be at peace.
