I've had frozen shoulder since April 16 in both shoulders, left is worse. Unfortunately physio let me down as due to chronic pain they wouldn't touch me, may I add I also have arthritis in the shoulders and neck which consultant believes contributed to this condition and unfortunately will cause it to happen again. Five cortisone injections didn't touch them.
November 3rd I suffered a subarachnoid haemorrhage so unfortunately now my consultant may decide not to operate. I've started seeing a rehab physio every 4/6 weeks who is loving and extremely experienced, it was my orthopaedic surgeon who specifically wanted her to treat me as she's a shoulder expert.
My physio has now made me decide no more cortisone injections ever, as I do get them through widespread arthritis. Not only her but my gp have hinted that the injections could have contributed to my brain haemorrhage although nobody will put this on paper it's definitely made me think as I had these 5 injections shortly before.
I'm in the frozen stage but have no choice but to let them thaw which in my case can take 2 to 5 years and then it can happen again. I can't dry myself wash and dry my hair, even brushing my hair is awkward. I can only currently stand for 2minutes and I have to sit down as it looks like they have hit something when they had 3 attempts at lumber puncture.
Regardless of my situation and how debilitating it is, I'm alive and very thankful for that. I can't wait for the day my shoulders thaw and will dread the day they freeze again but at least I'm here to moan about them.
I wish everyone every success with whatever option they go with and hope you get pain free and ROM back. I felt I needed to share my story.
I do hope you get well soon. I have had the Frozen Shoulder for about a year and a half. I am still in a lot of pain most of the time, but I have been able to at least wash my hair. Keep moving, you will get a little more ROM, just keep doing the excercises at home. I was just posting that i tried accupuncture and cupping yesterday and that seems to have releived a bit of the pain this.
Not looking for a cure, just some durg-free pain relief.
These posts will help new people on the forum, they sure helped me!
You poor thing, wall1409. I am on my 2nd FS, started in October. Thought I was prepared since I went through it before, NOTHING prepares you for FS. I just saw a Shoulder Specialist who said I too could get it back......I can't do this again. Totally changed my diet, no sugar, no dairy, nothing white, no grains, no beans and I am a vegetarian for the past 3 years. Started moving more. What I have researched.....sugar, grains and dairy cause inflammation. I feel your pain, I bought a stand for my hairdryer and thank God, I have natural curly hair. I do ask my son and my BFF to put my hair in a ponytail at times. Sending you love, prayers, a one-handed hug and good energy. Love that you are still grateful for your life, even with this dreadful ailment
Hi everybody. ...MUA worked for me...would have preferred Trigenics or Cibelex. ..English spelling....unfortunately Trigenics is about 9000 pounds...Cibelex is only available in the U.S...it hasn't passed our NICE scrutiny yet...good luck
Wow - that is really tough. I had just 1 shoulder which froze solid, had surgery and am just emerging from the rehab from that. Having BOTH shoulders frozen must be very, very hard. All I can say is that I wish you a very speedy thaw! With very best wishes.
