Waking up with fast heart rate and nausea

For two days in a row, I've woken up early in the morning, both times I've had a fast heart rate and nausea, as well as shuddering and vertigo. I feel mostly okay throughout the day, so I don't know what causes these random episodes at night.

Any idea what is causing it?

This is how I started off it could be just a panic attack or an anxiety disorder. It's best to get checked out by your doctors for best ways to treat this

What do you mean by fast heart rate, can you tell us how fast.

Right now it's just over 100bpm, at its worst it might have been around 120-140bpm. My normal resting heart rate is usually ~75bpm.

Two things come to mind from my own experiences, low blood sugars; you should find out if you're diabetic, or allergy to something.

Question, when you have the speeded heart rate etc do you also get the sweats? That can an indication of low blood sugars (hypoglycemia).

I keep thinking of other things. I just want to tell you that you don't have to be over-weight to be diabetic. I'm underweight and I'm diabetic type 2.

Yeah, I do get cold sweats and chills too. I did wonder if I was diabetic recently because I was having low blood sugar symptoms throughout the day. I've been the doctors and had both a urine and blood sample tested, which came out as normal though. I might have to go back and tell them about these new episodes at night.

Oh yes I'd definitely tell them. The thing that really makes me wonder is the time that you get the symptoms. After not eating for hours. I used to wake up in the middle of the night every night, shaking, sweating and with a fast heart rate and anxiety. It was hypoglycemia but I don't get it now.

I've managed my diabetes well with diet, herbs, supplements etc. Chromium is great for levelling blood sugars.

I'll try to book a doctors appointment as soon as I can, and hopefully I'll get things sorted out, thanks for the advice

You're welcome.

I hope you get to the bottom of it.
