Hi. Might sound like a stupid question but has anyone been given advice about walking without shoes following MIS bunion operation? I have been wearing crocs in he shower and wondered when I could stop doing this and walk around the bedroom bare footed? I am not sure where I got it from but I was under the impression that shouldn't walk without shoes but now not so sure. I am almost 8 weeks post op
Hi Karen. I did not have a bunion op just a toe op I stood bare foot in the shower after having the stitches out. I was told initially to not wear slippers to wear crocs. I am about 10 weeks nearly and I walk bear foot around bedroom ok. It is scarey going out for the first time I kept trying to avoid people incase they stood on my foot, then I would lose my balance and look very odd really like a very weird lady;-))
Thanks for that. The crocs that I bought are now far too big !They were the only ones that I could get on at 6 weeks but now they aren't
that great to walk in. I know what you mean about walking out in a crowd! I am now supposed to walk up to a mile a day whic isn't so bad if there aren't loads of people around! I have been taking a folding walking stick which I don't really need but is great to help with balance when it is needed. I am going to try to go and watch my team in the football match next week. The plan is to get there really early and to wait until the crowds have gone so as to not get feet stood on. Hope that I am brave enough!
I was wearing crocks aswell the consultant told me to wear something soft so I got cheap ugg type boots a size bigger than usual
