Hi Vickie so pleased you posted this question, with all the wonderful replies it yet again remained me how different we all are in our recovery and to stop worrying, my lovely physio keeps remaining me what we have been through too and it will take a year to get over it

It is a brilliant site for tips and to compare your self. Everybody says the same. We are all different and will heal at different times. The worse is over onwards and upwards Rome was not built in a day...nor were we .

Hi, week 4 tried no crutches. No pain but a bit stiff, week 5 this week and no crutches again....doing ok no pain but not very big strides. Also it was wet and I was a little cautious as worried about slipping. Turned out fine in the end. :)

that's good Mart. I'm not brave enough to try no crutches outside yet.... 4wks 2days, but working up to it. with me just confidence.
I dont get stiffness, I get muscle discomfort when do too much, but hey ho that's daily now and noticed each day this becoming less... keep up the good work 😉

Hi Mart76 so pleased you are doing well. I broke my hip 2 weeks ago today and still finding it very difficult. I was disabled with limited mobility before my fall but im managing to get about with my walker. What im finding hard is dressing and getting into the loo as my rollator wont fit so having to use a commode which i hate. I know its early days but i find it affects me mentally as i rely on my husband ti help me so much. I will get there in the end but just wondering when will i feel string enough yo do the simplest of jobs.

Hi so glad i found this forum. i am six days post op from full hip replacement on my left hip . first few days have been fine and i was happily doing my exercises, however the morning of day 5 my thigh muscles have swollen and are so stiff and sore i am unable to do my exercises, did you all suffer similar. i am also really struggling to sleep. Any advice would be gratefully welcome

I personally was doing welll with exercises and sleeping, just depression hit me around day 5 and day 14 I over did things.

I was never swollen or needed ice packs.

but your at right place for good advice and support 👍
