I actually have had a right THR with the super-path approach and it has worked wonders. Was 4 years ago and its like I have my own hip still there..No pain at all Now because my dr moved to AZ from southern illinois I guess i might have to settle for the anterior surgery on the left side.I keep reading where some are having nerve pain down the front of their leg and also if there was a knee problem this will make it worse..I would just like to hear some stories from you all about these different type hip surgeries. Also if you have a surgeon in your area that does the super-path way I would love to find one close to sourthen illinois.I really need to do something soon...
Hi Sue.I just went in line to watch. Supra path surgery.wow.That's great.I also saw the table they use for the anterior.no wonder my knees and ankles hurt . Its a torchure table. If I were you this anterior is way different than what you got before.Waite and find a doctor that does that surgery and travel there.
I sure wish I knew about it
Im so glad I got to see your post. I told my daughter I was going to go somewhere and have the super-path done..Its funny I have been scheduled 2 times for anterior in the last 4 months and both times I had to cancel because once I had a tooth infected. The second time a rash on my face and they had to cancel so maybe there was a reason.I wasnt suppose to have anterior done...I would not be able to walk if they twisted my knee It is really bad So I have heard there is a Dr in st louis mo and thats only a couple hours away .Will check him out...would love to go to Phonix to Dr Chow again but cant go that far..
Thanks again for your input..
What is the super path way, never heard of it'
This is very interesting. What happens in the USA usually happens here ten to twenty years later. My last surgeon wouldn't even put in a second ceramic to match the first because basically he doesn't know how to do them. It's fantastic that progress is being made on hip replacements because it's pretty barbaric and traumatic surgery.
hi Sue,
im so excited about this new method of super path, I have been die for a hip replacement for 3/4 years now and just keep thinking that maybe stem cell Theraphy would happen sooner that it has, but not yet done in Britain. Are you living in the USA? Is it similar to the mini hip?
i seem so less barbaric that THR. Can you do this operation for loss of cartalidge?
i have barely any left in my right hip. I would definitely travel to USA for this op!
please keep me informed.
Hi Veronica Yes im in the USA ..i had loss of cartilage and osteoarthritis .
It is a much easier surgery on a person than any of the other ones.
I was hoping for stem cell therapy myself but guess that is more in
the future..I was considering the anterior approach but believe me the
super-path is the way to go..Just not that many doctors doing it..I wish more would..Nice reading you post.
There is a post somewhere here from a man posting for a lady friend who had stem cells for her hip and it's been a month I think he said and it still has not taken HOLD....suppose this woman is wanting to avoid hip surgery......I'll try to find his thread and bring it over here or direct you to it.
You know what Sue? Literally I would drive to AZ hands down no matter what the inconvienence! If your first one with him with this approach turned out so well, I would risk another with him.
Dawn
Hi DD actually I would drive or fly.no matter what to get to him period.
Go for it then! And how I hope all will turn out as the first one did! I had the Anterior approach done for both of my THR's over the last year and a half, and the first one was perfect but the second one, 11 months out, is still a nightmare with the only improvement taking place in the last few weeks. My leg was left significantly longer with the second one and the ilopsoas tendon still screams at me.
My best to you!

Have you texed jilii her tendon did some egging like ur describing. She had I believe a anterior to.but s she just had it done again b/c of that same tendon.
The devicer was too large. And replaced with something I hope better. Sperry to hear yours is hurting you
I had an anterior hip may 14, this year.
Never again will I go through that again.period.
I think I have conversed with Jilli and learned a lot from her about my condition. I am so appreciative for all of you on here! Please keep me informed as to your progress and I pray that this time around will ultimately be better!
Hi Sue
Did you have your superpatch hip replacement in the UK - if so - where - name of consultant??
Many thanks
