Washing powder

i have had lichen scierosus for 9 years now I have all ways since been diagnosed as advised to use fairy non bio liquid tabs for my       Clothes and especially my underwear they have been taken off the market now, can any one who also has lichen scierosus please tell me what they use for washing detergent as I have tried 5/6 lots of other ones but they make it flare up bad, would appreciate any help         And advice, thank you Mary.

Hi i use a Costco own brand non boi washing powder. (Kirkland)It is safe for septic tanks.....! Very few of the other main brands state that this is the case. I use VERY little in the wash and dont put softeners in for the last rinse - too highly perfumed.  Extra rinse is good too

I have black cotton pants from J Lewis- no dye comes out - because of lack of bleach in the washing powder i dont like the grey look of off white pants which happens after a few washes with a gentle washing powder and i am NOT going  down the road of my great aunt a boil all whites!

Good Luck

Sue

Mary, I have LS but wash clothes with 1/2 cup borax powder and about 1/8th cup of Fairy dishwashing liquid to soak clothes for min. 20 minutes prior to the wash cycle.

Hi mary

Are you in the UK? If so I use Surcare. After washing I always give my clothse an extra cycle rinse through in the washing machine. Hope this helps you x

Hi Mary

!/2 cup of vinegar in the rinse water will remove al traces of soap

I use Sunrider product called Sunbright. It's free of phosphates and is made of natural enzymes such as tea tree and lemon grass oil. I use a very small amount and I try not to get fabric softener on the load with my underwear in. (Occasionally happens and I rewash).

that sounds really great!

i was going to add dr bronner

My aunt has super sensitve skin and this works for her so I'm trying it too. So far, I like it.

thanks for the great tip...much appreciated.

thanks for the great question mary. how are you now and what do you think you'll do?

Happy to help! Hope it's helpful

Hi Claire 12259'thankyou for getting back to me ,as I do live in the uk, thank you so much for your advice about trying surcare non bio with the extra rinse after the wash trying this weekend fed up with trying other things hopefully it will work as this really stresses me out thank you so much Mary x.

hi sandra

is this sunbright available in the uk ...do you know?

i am aware of dr bronner's many different types of very pure soaps, for body for washing up and for washing clothes etc.     i think it comes from the US but it is pricey, tho very good and very comforting, absolutely no baddies in it (at last count!!). are you uk/usa  elsewhere?

Hi I use unsented laundry soap (sm amount) and hot water. Vinegar in first rinse, and just cold water for the second rinse. Does any one else do this? Is this a good method?

It is a great method.  I don't ususally take the time but I have used vinegar as it

absolutely disolves  all  the soap.
