A couple of times over the last 2 weeks I have woken up with a terrible wave of nausea. This is accompanied by stomach rumblings and pain. I usually have a nauseas feeling during the day. At the moment all I take for IBS is 2 Buscopan tablets 4 times a day. Can anyone advise me firstly, is this nausea part of IBS, and secondly if so is there anything I can take for the nausea.
It might be acid reflux...i too have nausea in the morn after i woke up ask i sleep upright and the acid flow thru to my throat causes nausea.
hi l have woke up with nausea many times over last 6months or so, l did have acid reflux diagnosed years ago, but never had any real problems l was aware of with it, at least after having gall bladder removed, l did have bad heartburn indagestion with that before. l also had ibs diagnosed years ago, typical symptoms, but the frequent nausea in new to me, and horrible debilitating,lost my appetite with it. Gastroscope showe a bit of inflammation, put on omprazole for it, but not sure the inflammation caused severe frequent nausea, nor is gastroenterologist, so finding cause still a work in progress for me, but l do get the bad throat and raw tongue that many with acid reflux gastritus get, mystery. l found ginger helped a bit with nausea, plain diet of small portions, Some think its a food intolerance such as lactose or gluten intolerance, there,s loads of info on gastritus thread about symptoms diet and things to help.good luck.
avoid eating late at night and try sleeping with an extra pillow to prop you up.
domperidone might work for you. it is sold over the counter as motillum

i feel for you as im the same, everyday i suffer with the feelings of nausea. (Any time of the day, especially tho mornings!) It is defo part of ibs but there is hope out there. Speak to ur gp and ask for something called. Domperidone ive just started takening this as my acid reflux n nausea. suffer daily with it leaving me feeling the brunt of it. With soar throats chest and not to mention how u feel!! From this, living ur life in slow lane is a nightmare.
But it works wonders i take one in the morning everyday. first thing when awake. Give it 10 mins to settle and does work magic. Think of it working like gaviston medicine, sooths and coats over stopping the build up of acid and waves of nausea. All best and good luck to You.
