Hello Im having horrible side effects weaning off 5mg butec patches. I am on the 1st one of the month and thinking of not taking another one just leaving the one i have on. I cant get an appointment with my Dr for advice. I feel terrible, I have all the horrible side effects. can anyone give me any advice please. started on 20mg then 10mg now on 5mg the last lot. feel I should not continue the last three weeks just stop now. on butec for about 2+ years.
Hello. I was prescribed Butans patches by my consultant pain doctor in England. It was for severe lower back pain caused by falling down the stairs in 2008. It really helped to dampen the pain around the lower back and sacral areas. I put one on my body each week ie day 1, and changed it on day 7. However by day 6 i was " crawling up the walls" with terrible symptoms of withdrawal. I didn’t know what to do with myself. Eventually i weaned myself off it and remember cutting the patch up to small strips before I finally did it.
It was very scary, and although the patches worked…it wasnt worth what i went through once a week.
My anxiety went through the roof!!
