Interested to know wether the different seasons can make a difference to cts/post viral fatigue /me as yesterday afternoon it was very cold here but I seemed to be able to do a bit more in the way of walking than I have previously as for the most part when was warmer days I couldn't really leave the house
Makes a difference to me! In the summer I can't cook, or rarely but I've been cooking again for several weeks since the temperature's dropped. I'm absolutely wiped out in the heat!
Like Georgia, I find the hot weather more difficult to cope with than winter and I think it's fairly common amongst sufferers that the systems that control body temperature is yet another that is damaged.
Many people with ME/CFS find that they are shivering or sweating when others without the condition are quite happy, weird really but a well documented phenomenom .
I think that in the hot weather the higher humidity affects us too. I have a large dehumidifier and running it in my bedroom definitly makes me feel better.
Lower humdity's better for my laptop too. They always used to get frequent problems before I got a dehumidifier.
Interesting about your laptop, I've never encountered that before but of course professional main-frame computers are kept in air-conditioned environments, so it makes sense...
Yes, they're bound not to like water and I rarely get problems now with the lower humidity. The dehumidifier keeps the humidity around 50, which is perfect for humans and computers so that's handy!
This is interesting, I am knew to this. I have noticed the last few days I have been feeling better, and the weather is much colder. Never thought this could be it, but you make a great point!
I feel better too, and did wonder if it was the weather. To be honest it could literally be ANYTHING though! ![]()
I have actually made it outside an walked to town to have my haircut still had to stop three times both ways over a fifteen min walk but I actually got out lying on bed now though very tired but sooo pleased that I could actually do it
Yes it could be anything tho really lol but I'm taking advantage of this little bit better feeling so glad I've got a little bit more energy hoping that the weather stays like this if it is the weather change
It's very established that the weather affects us Katy. Other things do have an impact of course but the hypothalamus is in control of homeostasis, or temperature regulation, and we do seem to have a lof of problems with our glands and hormones.
Bravo your HIghness! Lol
No, really that's a huge achievement.
Yes I was sooo pleased I could get out I'm fed up of looking at my four walls long may that reign getting outside I mean not staying in lol
Lol
I don't mean to be a killjoy but don't get over excited about it and push it with the going out will you! Slow and steady wins the race.
No I know what you mean if only it was that simple eh 😘
I'm definitely adversely affected by the heat, including hot water in showers. I've passed out twice in the shower when the water was too hot.
Have you aw that's awful, best wishes to you really hope you can find a solution
At least you know you can do it. I've heard of people doing gentle walking and doing a bit more gradually but I think they're probably ready for it. We have to listen to our bodies don't we.
But guess what since I got up this morning I'm so breathless an can't even walk to kitchen hmmmm, I thought I was doing so well yesterday it's strange I really did think I could cope with the walking yesterday but today haven't job to lift left arm up and tight chest and breathless
Ouch! Post excercise malaise rearing its nasty head. You'll have to take it easy for a while as you know.
Something that helps me to breath better and to feel a bit clearer in the head is that I have a large dehumidifier in my bedroom. With less water in the atmosphere there's more oxygen to breath in.
