hi all
just to say I'm in week 3 of thr and am walking well a bit wobbly first thing in the morning and my balloon of a leg is almost back to it's normal self.
i think at the weakend I did to much and I am reducing my pain meds witch may not have been a wise thing to do as Sunday night I woke up in pain and on the whole since the hip replacement I have been pain free.this realy freaked me out.as always trying to run befor I can walk.my poor wife has had a worse time of it than me I think and realy understanding.
so to all wife's husbands carers a big thank you.
Hi Stuart, sounds like you're doing really well.Maybe stick with your pain meds a while longer, especially if you're doing a lot. Onwards and upwards....
I second that, a big shout for all those carers..!
Thanks Judith
i find it hard not to do all those things around the house that I used to do.
and instead consentrat on resting and doing my exersises.
thanks for your kind words
stuart
hey stuart,
happy to read that the swelling is going down and almost back to normal ..
How is your walking? Are you using crutches or cane to support you?
You are still pretty early in recovery, you know .. you are learning how to walk again, and probably are not in balance (wobbly) -
It must be hard for you to not be able to do the things for your wife, but you will be soon !!!
Listen to your body - when it hurts, stop --- and come back here anytime okay?
big warm hug
renee
Hi Stuart,Remember that you have had a major operation. Please don't over do things.regards. Amanda
I'll echo that sentiment, our wives, husbands and partners do a wonderful job supporting us before, through THR, and in recovery.
Hi
only hard to walk first thing but whent for a short walk today and all good.just have a Kane but use crutches in the morning or in the night as it gives more serport.
i get rather impashent and think I can just pick up from pre op days.im realy happy I had the op.
i realy won't to get back to cycaling gardening and I hope it won't be to far off.fiona my wife is very good at being my reality check.i thank my lucky stars I have such a good friend and wife.

i use to run and as a runner you have to listen to your body.
wish I was better at doing this but thank you for your kind words
stuart
It would be ni on imposable without there serport love and encouragement .stu
Well done on your recovery Stuart. Like you I have forgotten that it is still early days and have had to back off from my activities a little.
And, yes, all cares should be acknowledged for all they do and have to contend with. My hubby is especially pleased he no longer has to put up with me growling at him....I think he was exaggerating :-)
Regards #Chrizzy
My poor wife has been a star putting up with me.driving to the hospital in the middle of the night when things got to much or standing by with encouragement when she could see I was in so much pain.that was pre op.
but when last week I was told I didn't need crutches I felt like a new man.free.
thanks for the kind words
stu
