week 5 sertraline... starting to worry!

Hi, im into week 5 on sertaline for anxiety.. still very on and off.. good days and bad days. I think im still experiencing side effects, am just wondering if this is normal? For example, the last week ive suddenly been feeling really tired, no energy but i havent had that since week two. Also had really hot flushes and chest tightness and tingling skin today, which ive had since the beginning.. how long do these side effects normally last? It's starting to worry me getting a bit fed up and really hoping i start to feel the benefit from these tablets soon!

any advice i'd appreciate

thanks

Dannielle

Hi Dannielle, 5 weeks is only a short period of time on Sertraline, I would say give it at least 8 weeks before you really start to feel it kicking in..... try to ride out the side effects, it will improve soon 😃

Take a look here, it may help you 😃

Hi danielle. I think im on my 10th week of sertraline. Im sure i experienced chest pain at some point. I dont really have any side effects now just strange dreams and some times im really hyper. Not that i knowtice but other people do lol. Stick with it I know its really hard because it takes so long to feel like yourself again. at the moment i feel good and my relationish with my 8 yr old daughter is fantastic now. I know at some point il have a really bad day or couple of days and thats scary but i try to enjoy the dayz that i feel really good. If your worried about the chest pains ask your doc. I have ranted alot but if you need some one to talk to im here ☺ hope u feel better soon x

Also danielle iv started going back to the gym. I dont go because i want to loose weight. I go because after excercising i feel clearer and much calmer. I know that the gym isnt for every one but seriously its great for mental health 👍 x

Thank you for your reply! Chest pains have gone again the last two days, so feeling slightly better again! I have been going to the gym a couple of times a week, and I completely agree, it makes me feel so much better and with a clear head xx
