week 9 for daughter- time flies!!

a good week, no downs, no tears, she seems and sounds her happy self, iv heard her singing, and we have been shopping and not once did she panic in a shop.

she isnt sleeping, still gets the night sweats, but that was it this week, today she is back at work, fingers crossed i wont get panic emails/texts, and she copes well.

so all round a good week for her, when i think back to the fear i think we both had when she first went on these pills, fear they wouldnt work, and i had the knowledge of side effects to some point, luckily daughter didnt. she said the other day, after having her tummy virus for weeks, and not functioning at all, then getting depression, if the flu tablets hadnt worked she thinks she would have seriously harmed herself, as she couldnt cope with the pains in her tummy, and the depression,

im home today, so if there are any issues, im here, but im so pleased week 8, and into week 9 were trouble free. today, we are smiling. xx

Yes-Doesn't time fly! Oh karen its wonderful to hear your daughter is doing so well! She has been through the mill hasnt  she.

Im sure she'll cope fine back at work if shes feeling so good, back to routine (think it'll do me good too tho this morning was a struggle!), lets hope :-).

Hope this week stays trouble free and full of smiles!

Take care

she struggled to get out of bed this morning, but thats due to wanting to stay comfy and warm. iv had a text saying time is dragging, and she had only been at work 20 minutes!! but fingers crossed, week 9 is as good as week 8, and she finally gets some proper sleep!

how you doing vix? still feeling blue? i hope not. xx

thankyou tina,

we started seeing improvement after day 9,  she battled through the side effects, and now into week 9, its looking good, the sleepless nights, and the sweats are a pain, hopefully they will settle soon. all the other side effects seem to have abated( hopefully for good)

take care, keep smiling. xx

Great to hear of your daughters progress, and yes indeed doesn't time fly!  When you're 'in that moment' it seems like waiting for the medication to work is a lifetime, then suddenly you're looking back at it all.

I'm the same (though taking Citralopram which is another SSRI) .... if it hadn't been for these types of medication, I don't know what I'd have done.

Just waiting for my son to feel well again now.  He's back at work again today, so hopefully routine will help.

Hi karen

Im not too bad ta, blues seem to be better today so having smiley day (hope that continues as they were dragging on!).  Still got mild butterflies all the time for no reason but I guess thats just how it is.

Im not sleeping too bad now, ok til 430-5 then usually wake up with sweats (bad this morning and didnt go back to sleep properly as couldnt get warm after-very frustrating!). Probably why I struggled this morning! Haha

For an odd night I use snsbrys sleep aid, got similar stuff in to night nurse (1 is enough for me, 2 makes me wiped out next day). Might be worth a go for your daughter,  sleep makes everything easier!

To tweak a phrase from star wars.....May the smiles be with you both:-)

Xx

Thanks for asking x

Yes went back to work yesterday and he's now on day 2 on his higher dose.  Am prepared for him to spiral downwards, but hope not.  David is doing well on a higher dose, so fingers crossed my son will be too.

Will let you know his progress x

thats good touch wood she soon settles into sleep they actually helped me sleep but i used to take mine at bed time dont know if that made a difference though Tina x

thats the same as daughter, wakes up sweating, then cant get warm, she does try kalms every now and again at the weekend, but wont take anything in the week when she is up for work. and its very odd, she was waking at the same time every night, literally down to the minute!

im glad you had a smiliey day,  i hope today is too!! xx

that may be worth a try, it was the dr who told her to take them first thing in the morning, hopefully her sleep pattern will settle. xx

awww fingers  crossed he copes well, and any side effects are fleeting! it was a very long day for daughter yesterday after 2 weeks off work, she was really tired, hope he has a good day today. xx

All seems ok at the moment still.  Think big thing we'll work on this year is him socialising a little more.  :-)

I'm glad he is coping OK!  Excellent news, daughter is struggling to get up in the mornings, but she did sleep OK last night. So that's good.

I hope you are still smiling whilst looking after your son, i'v found it so hard, not to mention heartbreaking looking after daughter, and I'm not suffering like you.  Stay strong hunny.  X

Yes it's been very hard looking after him, and so very, very emotional.  I'd been well for years and off meds for about a year, but started taking medication again when he did before it affected me, as I knew what was coming for him - and he suffered worse than I'd expected.  I guessed it would affect me and didn't want to have to cope with me and him - that would have been so unbearable.  I'm did start to suffer due to being stressed and worried about him, but it's eased and I'm feeling nearly ok again.

Looking forward to the Spring, a little sunshine always lifts spirits :-)
