Can bisoprolol cause week ness in the legs ? I am feeling that I am just plodding around now when taking my dog for a walk, I did not feel like this before taking this, been on 5mg fo 6 weeks now
My 2 pages of explanations for Biso side effects list: under: LESS COMMON SEs : possibly relating to legs[?] or whole body: " weakness" , difficulty in moving, lack or loss of strength, muscle pain or stiffness, pain in joints + acute quadriplegic myopathy was reported in an { that's just 1 anephric patient {Renal failure} - receiving Bisoprolol 2.5mg daily. Muscle function returned to normal following stop of Biso...!!!
under RARE SEs : dizziness/walking + shakiness - swelling of feet/lower legs...!
I am on 10/6.25mg Biso... and have the swelling, numbness, and a slew of other SEs [side effects] but have lived with them for way over 10 years... ,
There are 3 types of Biso...,
mine has that 6.25 mg Hydrochlorothiazide in it, which is a diuretic... My kidneys have gotten used to that HCTZ influence and if I stop taking this med even 2 days, it's ballon time... I swell up ! I don't think you are in that category in just 6 weeks yet ... so do check online about the SE's for Biso... and check with your doc... These Meds have to be individualized... by trial and error... dosage and type !!!...There are other BetaBlockers out there... From across the pond, I Wish you well !!!
I told my doctor that it had slowed my motor down. He agreed that it has effect.
Could it be that it is meant to slow us down??
Well, my resting pulse has been mostly 50 --- for years now. That's on the slow side, and that's what Biso seems to do... I don't think it is supposed to do it... it's listed as a side effect.......It just happens that some heart conditions cause a fast pulse, which needs to be slowed down... so they give Biso if a Beta Blocker is appropriate... Yet, in my case I never have had a fast pulse, I seem to remember the #s 56-60 . Biso was Rx'd to prevent a repeat of the heart attack I had in 87, and the type of heart condition I seem to have calls for a Beta Blocker and also controls my elevated BP. I guess we need to be grateful Science has developed these Meds...despite the Side effects. 200 years back I would not have lived to age 79....heck, I would not have lived past age 12. I got the 1st dose of Penicillin available ever in my town in Germany after they gave me last rites.. or Pneumonia +Meningitis would have put an end to me. It is all on how you look at it... still kicking and taking the good with the bad.. but do keep your doc informed if side effects get worse...!!! I wish you well !
