Hello,

Anyone knows anything about vaccines, whether they are good or not after you are in remission?

At my work place, there is an offer for whoever wants to travel to India, to our company's HQ there, but I know that you must have vaccine against tetanus, typhoid fever and a few other as well, besides tablets for malaria.

I would like to go, but I have no idea if it is recommended to have vaccine knowking how it works.

Any reply would be highly appreciated!

My son is 11 years old and his Rheumotologisr and pediatrician recommends that he continue on his vaccine regiment. He actually has all of his vaccines since being diagnosed with WEGs

Hi. I spoke to the Vasculitus team at Addenbrooks the other day about vaccines. We can't ever have live vaccines but there are alternatives available apparently. You need to speak to your GP surgery to arrange this. Well that was the advice I was given. I hope that helps.

Forgot to add that if I was you I would ring whichever Clinic you are registered with and who deals with your Vasculitus to get proper advice.

Yes I have all my vaccines for travel it's highly important when your immune system isn't working properly. I also have GPA and my rheumatologist recommended that I get them alll but not ones that have live cultures. I think those are probably special vaccines
