Hi all, I would like to know if I can go back to my normal weight once I get off carbimazole
Hi Therese in my experience with carbimazole you will only be putting on weight if you were not your true weight elite taking it ie underweight from being hyperthyroid or if you are now on to high a dose. I put on a few lbs but soon lost in when dose was lessened plus I eat a Paleo diet to support this and my health 👌.
Hi Karmaway, thanks for your reply, I am currently on a dosage og 5mg X 2 per day, but i just still keep on putting weight whenever I eat, by the way whats a Paleo diet
I was at 10 mg too. Maybe discuss this with your endo? It's basically not eating dairy/wheat/sugar and grains. 😆
I'll surely ask, does your paleo diet really works in terms of losing weight
Yep it does and makes me feel a whole lot better! It's just basically cutting out processed foods from your diet! Your focus should be on getting healthy and feeling well rather than losing weight. That'll come in time 😁
By the way how are you coping with your hyperthyroidism?
I feel a lot better thanks! TSH still undetectable though but that'll come up in time ! You?
Thanks, for the great advise , it's worth a try if I want to get better, also did you have problems with insomnia, I mean these days I can get about 4 hours of sleep every night, but I guess 4 hours is better than no sleep at all
I'm feeling a lot better also except for the insomnia but anyway at first I could not sleep at all, maybe in time I'll be able to sleep much better
By the way are you in England
When I was taking 10 msg I suffered with insomnia but now 5 mg every other day or even daily I sleep much better! Are your levels in range?
Yep in U.K. , you?
just got my test back and my levels are in range, going to see the endo on friday.
I am not in England but in Seychelles. The problem here is that we have only one endo for the whole population and I get to see the endo every four months, thats too long to wait for a specialist, even if you're having complications with the meds that the endo have given to you during this four months you have to see a normal GP, rediculous! but what to do
Sounds like you may need to cut back the meds a bit! Oh wow it's very similar here too!! One endo for the whole of Cornwall where I live ! It's crazy isn't it!! Wow you are so lucky to live in the Seychelles!! ♥️
