Weight

Are any of you finding that it's hard to keep weight on even if you are eating 3 times a day?

Oh that's a new one to me my problem is weight piling on around my stomache but different things effect people in different ways

Yes...had that issue last year. Just keep eating, it will eventuslly go the other way. I'm the opposite this year. Too heavy.

Gosh wish I can send all these weightloss issues to my OBGYN and regular doc. They both disagreed that weightloss was not attributed to peri. They were soooo wrong as usual. So many women on this site have had weightloss issues, so you are not alone and not crazy.

Hang in there probably in about 6-8 mos. or so your body will get back to normal, or you may go the other direction like me now. Now I can't lose it, but I know how weightloss is. To me losing weight was more scary. It will come back though. Just takes awhile. Have to be patient with it. Keep eating as much as you like though. Try some Ensure to help keep your muscles intact, and you'll eventually gain it back.

Hi Lori, I did lost a lot weight going through the menopause with all the sickness feeling vomiting hardly keeping anything down...putting it now back on a bit seems like my weight is fluctuating all the time, not like other people piling it on.

I keep having problems with my stomach and appetite . Every time I put the weight back on my stomach plays up again and I feel like I'm back to square one . It's the nausea that gets me . Can this really be normal ? I am 49 and still having regular periods . Take care Jane X

Unfortunately I have just the opposite! I have trouble losing period!

I know that's where I'm at now. Can't lose it, or my appetite. I smell food and at it adds on the lbs.

I can't keep it on.

How long have you been losing the weight, and are you experiencing stomach issues with it?

I've been going back and forth for a year. I started a food journal to keep track of what I'm actually eating. With this foggy brain I don't think I was eating like I should.

Try more high carb foods that will eventually stick. Drink some Ensure for vitamins and nutients you might be losing.

No. I have the exact opposite problem. Weight keeps coming on no matter what I do. Can't even lose any with exercise and clean diet. You might want to have your thyroid checked. A regular blood test sometimes does not show results that you need to see. Ask them to do deeper into the test and test T3 and T4 as well.

I was having the same problem since July. I lost around 25 to 30 pounds around 3 months. I eat a lot every day and a lot at night which is worse. I barely noticed that now I'm starting to gain a couple pounds back.

Yep, I had this too, back in the days of peri.  I called my doctor and said something was wrong, I could twirl a size 4 shirt around my waist.  It was really scary and I was eating just fine.  Just whacked out hormones doing their thing.

Enjoy it while you've got it cause it won't last.

I went to a hormone dr. They checked all and my T3 and T4 they are fine.

Off and on I get the weight loss. Sometimes I get nauseous.

Mine were normal as well. I think hormone levels fluctuate all the time. Pretty sure the wrightloss is all peri related, so maybe in about 6 to 8 mos. you will be more on an even keel with your weight.

I'm much heavier now and can't lose it no matter what I try. So just the opposite from a year ago for me. Lost 20, but gained about 25 back. You probably have anxiety that plays major havoc with your hormones. It will get better, just takes time. Need to ride out the storm, and try not to let the anxiety get a hold of you.
