i am 17 year old female. Almost one year ago I fainted when going to the bathroom one morning. My belly was hurting badly and I jumped out of bed barely woken up. My parents found me, they took me to bed and there I fainted again( didn't lie down). since then I have anxiety and panic attacks. It started with heart palpitations, buttocks tingling, abdominal pain(like urgent need to go). My symptoms change every one or two months. I had a period of time with losing control for the moment, restlessness. then dissociation, now dissociation came back but much worse. I had a few days in which I was scared I will hurt myself without me wanting to, feeling as if I am going crazy. For a month I've been getting weird headaches, like zaps and jabs in several spots. The shooting pains feel like drilling or electroshock. A few days ago I discovered a bony lump at the back of my head, on the cervical area, right on the last bone in the left side and one a bit lower. I have also been getting tinnitus in one ear and blockage in the other followed by face and scalp tingling. my left arm feels weak, my left part of the scalp numb and left side of the face feels weak. Can all these symptoms be from anxiety, from a potential cervical spondylosis (although I don't get bad neck pain, but all over back when I have a poor posture or sit or stand for a long time) or maybe a brain tumor or something much worse? Could it have anything to do with the fainting spell from last November?( I went to the doctors then and did blood tests, I was examined, but everything was fine) I must mention tomorrow I am going to a peditrician which will send me to other specialists, but believe me I have been living hell this past week and my anxiety was horrible, I've been crying like crazy because I truly don't want to die (my parents got really scared they might lose me when I fainted, as they are themselves extremely anxious because they lost my brother to suicide) and I truly don't want to hurt my parents. thank you if you read this, anything helps! also, sorry for my crooked english
yes anxiety can cause all sorts of symptoms including some of your symptoms and I’m glad you’re going to see the pediatrician. It’s always good to just get a thorough check up so that you have peace of mind. is there anything in your life that is causing you a lot of stress? could the anxiety have anything to do with what happened to your brother? Discuss all of this with your doctor. you can share everything you have put in this message so that the doctor gets a complete picture of what’s going on. follow up with the specialists including any counseling or medical doctors. Sounds like there’s a good plan. Try to relax yourself for now to bring down the anxiety level. Take care! ![]()
Hi! I went to the doctor.
I did an ultrasound and it came out perfect.
The blood work also perfect.
My ears turns out they’re totally fine and the doc said the tinnitus might be caused by stress.
The doc said the lump at the back of my neck seems to be a swollen lymph node, but I think she was touching other area…now I take some medicin that can help the node unswell. Tomorrow I’m going to get my thyroid checked but I also think I’ll get a xray for my back. I really don’t think it is a swollen lymph node after all as it is pretty big and hard.
Also, doctors are very ignorant where I live, most of them are rude, rushed. No one really cares about you…I can’t talk too much to them about anything, they don’t take me seriously.
I will go to a therapist for my anxiety though.
Thank you for being so kind and gentle!
great! I think you’re going to do just fine. You are being proactive about your health which is a good thing! take care and we are always here! ![]()
