hello
i have been taking fluoxetine for depression for 5 days now (20mg) i also have anxiety and have klonopin for that but i havent had a panic attack in a few days. anyways yesterday i was feeling pretty normal and during the evening out of nowhere my heart starts beating really fast and i start feeling panic so try to calm down but it doesnt work i even took some klonopin wich usually helps right away with the anxiety but it didnt help. i layed down and tried to relax and eventually got very sleepy and fell asleep. this morning i woke up feeling really shaky and weak and shivering and fast heart beat, its been about 2 hours since i woke up and i still feel a fast heart beat but not so shaky and i feel anxious. i was wondering if this is a side of effect of fluoxetine. and if so im thinking of just stopping it because its an awful feeling.
The side effects are awful. I suffered nausea, shaky, tired and generally felt dreadful. The medicine is cumulative but the side effects are instant therefore you feel worse before you feel better. Stick with it, it really is worth it! x
Hi - I've been Flux for nearly 4 weeks (20mg once daily) - review on Monday - everything has been going great ... depression and apathy completely gone, unfortunately side effects have kicked in in the last 48 hours - stiff jaw, restless sleep and today the jitters and generally feeling twitchy - like a massive blood sugar drop. I don't want to give up on it as it has worked so brilliantly so far ... At the moment trying to find countermeasures for feeling horrible - so far carbs help - a slice of toast holds it off for a couple of hours and bizarrely fruit. Am guessing sugar might counteract the feeling of hypos.
Hi Sally - just out of interest how long before your SFX wore off? x
I think they were gone by the end of week 4. You see I feel so great now (end of week 5), that I can't remember when the side effects stopped. This week 5 has been fantastic! x
