Hey guys im Ryan. i am a 22 year old from the upper midwest. About a month and a half ago i started getting these weird feelings in my head. Being i have epilepsy and the feelings be something i haven't experienced before i decided to go get it checked out. I havent had a seizure since 2009 so things were under control. I was involved in a car accident 2.5 years ago with no major head injuries. The feelings were all on my left side of my head mainly on top or by my ear. The feelings were like a ice cube melting on my head then running down my head. It would be a dull or numb pain nothing major. I have been really tired, no energy, or ambition as well. sometimes i would feel out of it or hard time remembering things. Ive noticed some hair loss but that started before the other symptoms did. Also i had an uptick in stress and anxiety. At times i would think like i was having a heart attack a stroke, think i have cancer. My mind was playing games with me. I had a CT scan and blood work done at my first appointment and everything was normal. After sleeping a lot, the symptoms improved. Just over a week later they came back. I went back to the doctor and he figured it was my anxiety and prescribed a medication for it. Then it just went away every other day. All in all ive seen 4 doctors 3 blood test and a CT scan and havent found anything. Im at a loss and would like to figure out what it is. Should i go see a neurologist or just push through it and hope it goes away.
try an mri to rule things out. is it possible these symptoms are related to your epilepsy?
I don’t really think it is possible that it would be related. I am planning on getting a appointment with a neurologist soon.
keep in mind that anxiety can cause all sorts of weird and unusual symptoms. If you get an MRI and it’s normal, then it is most likely related to stress and anxiety. in that case, it would be helpful if you were to talk with a counselor about managing the anxiety better so that you get less symptoms or perhaps none.
