Weird Knee Problems... Help!

Recently my knee has started to hurt and it's gradually getting worse over time. Every time I squat down I hear a quiet explosion under my knee cap and pain shoots up my thigh. What is causing this? Do I need to see a Doctor urgently or not?

Yes.  X-ray and/or MRI.  Even then, the imaging may not be conclusive.  With my four knee scopes (two each side), none of the imaging showed anything.  In each arthroscopy, the docs found a torn meniscus or shredded femoral condyle.  Sometime, the docs just have to go in and look around.

sounds like the vacuum of the joint capsule has been compromised. Sucks in air as you stand, blows air out as you squat.

What Chico said. Sometimes imaging wont show inside the joint. Doc had to pump fluid in mine to jack the joint apart to find the torn tissue one time.

Is that a bad thing? Do I need to see the doctor about that?

The joint capsule is supposed to be a vacuum...so no, it would not be good.

Thanks guys for your feedback

Ok thx I'll have my knee checked out

Squat (?) you are pushing your knee. I think the answer is obvious!

hhmmmmm.
